TAG Heuer, the Ikuzawa family and Bamford Watch Department first worked together three years ago on a 42mm Carrera chronograph in Team Ikuzawa's colours. They have done it again, this time on the 39mm Carrera Glassbox, the case that revived the proportions of Jack Heuer's original Carrera and covered the dial with a high, domed sapphire. Monochrome reported the release on 30 July 2026. The result is one of TAG's cleanest modern chronographs wearing a racing team's livery.
From 42mm to 39mm
The case is the standard Carrera Glassbox: 39mm across, 13.9mm tall and 46mm lug to lug, in brushed and polished steel, with a box-shaped sapphire crystal that arcs over the sloping flange without a conventional bezel. The crown at 3 wears a red lacquered ring and sits between vintage-style pushers. The caseback is sapphire, engraved with the Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Department marks and an individual number, and water resistance is 100 metres. Nothing about the case is new, which is the point: this is a proven watch given a theme.
A dial in team colours
The dial is white with a fine Clou de Paris texture and a black outer flange carrying the 60-second track. In place of the usual applied indices are printed markings, which give it the look of a stopwatch rather than a dress chronograph. Red runs through the whole thing: the logos, the lacquered hour and minute hands, the central chronograph seconds hand and even the numerals on the angled date wheel. The layout is bicompax, with a 12-hour counter at 9 and, at 3, a 30-minute counter in red, its design lifted from Team Ikuzawa's old Roadmaster timing instruments. There is no running-seconds subdial, so the Team Ikuzawa signature sits above the date at 6, and there is no tachymetre.
The TH20-10 inside
The movement is TAG Heuer's own TH20-10, an automatic chronograph with a column wheel, a vertical clutch and bi-directional winding. It holds 80 hours of reserve, runs at 4 Hz, and the caseback records its 33 jewels. This is the same modern architecture TAG has been rolling out across the Carrera line, and it is a real step up from the sourced movements these watches used to carry. For a limited edition at this price, an in-house chronograph calibre matters.
150 pieces, three straps and a toolbox
The watch comes on a new seven-row steel bracelet, with two more straps in the box: a perforated white leather strap with red stitching, and a white textile strap with red stripes that copies Team Ikuzawa's racing livery. The set arrives in a package shaped like a mechanic's toolbox, with a travel pouch and a set of team charms.
